With an average daily census of 70-90 patients, a newly constructed state of the art free standing 8 bed inpatient unit and a widely recognized children’s bereavement program, East End Hospice serves the Long Island, New York, Eastern Suffolk County townships of Brookhaven, Riverhead, Southold, Shelter Island, Southampton and East Hampton.

Current Positions Available

President & CEO

East End Hospice is seeking a President and CEO who shall be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of the program and for the development and implementation of the agency’s long range planning.

  • Manage the EEH program effectively and efficiently, oversee all program components and provide supervision to EEH personnel.
  • Provide or oversee all administrative functions of the agency.
  • Actively engage with the Board of Directors for the development and implementation of long range, strategic and financial plans.
  • Represent the agency and its constituents in local and state professional, legislative and community forums.
  • Provide leadership and support for ongoing planning activities by working with the Board of Directors, committees, staff and community leaders on issues related to program development, legislation, certification and reimbursement.
  •  Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and corporate contracts, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Support and develop the team’s professional and management skills through leadership, education and setting outcome expectations for each department.
  • Ensure the agency’s continued financial stability and responsible utilization of resources.

Qualifications:

  • Must be familiar with the hospice concept and its implementation.
  • Demonstrated leadership and not for profit managerial skills including adept problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Able to work with professional staff and volunteers to support the interdisciplinary team concept.
  • Able to work under the direction of all volunteer board of directors and provide support to board committees.
  • Administrative ability with strength in the areas of program development, personnel management and supervision, volunteer recruitment, fiscal management and fundraising.
  • Current knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations and administration.
  • Skilled at public speaking, able to interface with the public and donors at all levels of giving.
  • Must be fully computer literate, have exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Professional Requirements:

  • Must hold a current NYS license as registered nurse, clinical social worker or physician.
  • A master’s or higher degree in area of clinical specialty, with preferably a minimum of one year of full time work experience in a certified hospice.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in the delivery of health care services, which shall include at least two (2) years in a responsible administrative position.
  • Demonstrated ability in health care administration, program management and development and community relations.

RN Full Time Night Shift at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care

Provide primary nursing care as part of interdisciplinary team of professionals & volunteers. Minimum 2 years RN experience in an acute care setting required; BSN and Hospice experience preferred, current NYS RN license & registration required.

Valid New York State driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance required for all positions. East End Hospice offers competitive salary and benefits, supportive working environment.

LPN Full Time Nights – Kanas Center for Hospice Care

Provide primary nursing care for our general inpatient unit as part of interdisciplinary team of professionals & volunteers. Minimum 2 years LPN experience in an acute care setting required; Hospice experience preferred, current NYS LPN license & registration required.

Hospice Aide Full Time  – Kanas Center for Hospice Care

Working 3-  12 hour shifts per week follow the plan of care as established by the primary nurse, performing various services to meet the patient’s personal needs and to promote comfort, quality, continuity, and safety.  Qualifications must include completion of New York State Department of Health approved Home Health Aide Training Program and previous Hospice or Homecare experience.

Weekends will be required on a rotating basis.  Valid New York State driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance. East End Hospice offers competitive salary and benefits, supportive working environment.
