RN Full Time Nights – Kanas Center for Hospice Care

Provide primary nursing care for our general inpatient unit as part of interdisciplinary team of professionals & volunteers. Minimum 2 years RN experience in an acute care setting required; BSN and Hospice experience preferred, current NYS RN license & registration required.



Provides overall planning, direction, coordination, supervision of services at the Kanas Center in conjunction with the Director of Patient Services. Develops and facilitates community education programs to enhance community understanding of Hospice and End of Life Care decision making differentiating between Kanas inpatient care and community-based care. Provides and assesses hospice services to assure high quality care to East End Hospice patients and families.  Maintains performance improvement monitoring and evaluation activities and participates in CQI activities.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Registered Nurse with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited program, Masters Degree preferred. Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of NY. Three (3) years nursing experience in Hospice or home health. At least one (1) year supervisory and administrative experience. Able to relate to members of the healthcare team.


Hospice Aide – Per Diem

Per Diem Hospice Aides, Day and Night Shift – Kanas Center for Hospice Care

Follow the plan of care as established by the primary nurse, performing various services to meet the patient’s personal needs and to promote comfort.  Responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations, and care performed.  Promotes quality, continuity, and safety of a patient’s care. 


– Completion of New York State Department of Health approved Home Health Aide Training Program.

– Valid New York State driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance


12-hour shift

Day Shift or Night Shift

Weekends will be required on a rotating basis
